at a glance

worth mentioning, there is a heliport near this mirante so that adventure seekers can enjoy a helicopter ride that allows them to appreciate not only the city attractions from the sky but also the beautiful surroundings and the statue of Christ the redeemer up-close.

getting to the mirante dona marta is easy - can either be done via taxi from cosme velho, near the entrance to the train that takes visitors to the statue of christ on corcovado, along the estrada das paineiras and into estrada do mirante dona marta.

alternatively, the mirante is reachable via trail starting from inside the favela santa marta, safe since its pacification in 2008.

if going via hiking on the trail, a professional hiking guide is not only recommended, but necessary - in addition to the extra safety hiking guides can provide, professional guides are fluent in portuguese and would be indispensable in case of an emergency to communicate with rescue crews.     arrow-back      arrow-forward
