the respect for their ethnic diversity is essential for the affirmation of the culture of each of the 270 indigenous groups now living in brazil - currently there are approximately 370,000 indigenous in brazil who speak some 180 languages.

the instituto casa de cultura rio (iccrio), was created to introduce to rio the method suzuki of music teaching - this innovative system was used to teach violin to children and adolescents, to this day the iccrio offers classes of violin, piano, and cello among other things.
