In the traditional model of slave resistance, the dominant tendency was towards hiding and secret war, but  The Quilombolas struggled to protect there day-to-day lives, their internal structure and their leadership from every type of enemy or outsider, including, afterwards, historians - the flower Camélias, popular in leblon, served as a symbol of this movement.
