point de grumari is a wonderful seafood restaurant located in rio de janeiro's west zone neighborhood of barra de gauratiba - since its opening in 1992,  owners claudio rondon and inês ferro have provided its diners with perfectly placed window seats and a paradise patio area outside to take in the beautiful view of restinga da marambaia, or the marambaia sandbank.

some tasty appetizers include grilled octopus, cod and shrimp fritters, and shrimp and crab 'pastéis', which is plural for 'pastel', a deep fried savory pastry - pastas and risottos are popular favorites that include lobster, shrimp, octopus, and mussels, which can all also can be found alongside the squid and seared grouper, in the variety of moqueca dishes offered, which are hearty seafood stews.

though frutos do mar, or fruits of the sea, make up a large part of the menu, grilled picanha, filé mignon, and chicken fillets are other great options.

menu prices are in-line with the high-quality and eco-friendly cuisine, which uses recycled oil, and provides generous portions and plenty of sides.  arrow-back      arrow-forward
