antiquarius isa quaint and traditional portuguese seafood restaurant found in the wealthy district of leblon - it is something of an institution in rio, and considered by many as the best authentic portuguese restaurant in rio de janeiro.

it is very popular amongst local residents, especially those considered to be a part of the 'in-crowd', as well as many celebrities who have been spotted dining - antiquarius has been serving traditional portuguese cuisine to a range of pol iticians to soap-stars since 1977.

the cod dishes are some of the stars of the menu, with some portions able to feed two - other favorites are the codfish balls and meat croquette appetizers, as well as the duck risotto and portuguese style baked cod.

the decor of the restaurant is fairly kitsch with antique furniture and paintings lining the walls, and the prices reflect the quality of cuisine and dining experience.       arrow-back      arrow-forward
