this event  is one of the most popular in rio's west zone, home to the landmark church igreja de nossa senhora do desterro, built in 1628, and the third oldest church in the city.

around 5:30 pm, neighbors start gathering, families carry benches and chairs and the street starts filling up with people waiting for the show to start.

popular groups such as banda firma samba and pura decisão  have participated in the event,  as well as singers like elymar santos and balacobaco - along with samba schools such as unidos de vila isabel.
