at a glance
Brazil and Suriname started to cultivate diplomatic relations after the independence of the country in 1975 - Brazil is seen as one of suriname's most relevant partners since its history of independence is relatively recent on an international scale.

Brazil is collaborating with suriname on a number of projects to preserve the health of its population, limit crime, increase agriculture and train diplomatic employees - many initiatives have been created to prevent the spread of syphilis, HIV, AIDS and chagas disease, while educating the public on general health practices, since because suriname borders Brazil in the northeast, all of suriname's programs have a direct influence on both side's border populations. arrow-back      arrow-forward
