After the tension was eliminated, bilateral and multilateral relations flourished between Brazil and Germany with several presidential visits and meetings between ministers of both countries creating a dense web of initiatives and projects in the areas of technology, culture, logistics, politics, environment, social movements and commerce, among other more specific subjects.

Especially after the year 2000, the atmosphere between the two countries has been of extreme friendliness and partnership, as both countries' ideals are often aligned - Rio is a much loved vacation spot for germans, who can find plenty of travel agencies that either offer support or have wide experience in dealing with german-based private clients and companies.
