niterói's city park is located at the top of morro da viração, which puts the park at an altitude of 270 meters above sea level. inaugurated in 1976, the city park covers an official area of 149,388 square meters -  making it one of the largest parks in niterói.

the view from niterói's city park encompasses many great landmarks of the region including a panoramic view of the piratininga and itaipú lagoons - individuals can also see são francisco beach, jurujuba beach, the neighborhood of icaraí,  the guanabara bay, and the iconic rio-niterói bridge, and in the distance, individuals can see the peaks along the shore of rio de janeiro city, including pão de açúcar, morro dois irmãos, and the  cagarras islands.
