everything changed for skateboarding in the 1970s when urethane wheels were created - bahne was the first company to produce urethane wheels and the product introduction changed the sport forever - the urethane wheels made skateboarding and longboarding popular again.

tricks were becoming more advanced, and skateboard parks sprung up everywhere, but longboarding did not gain popularity  a little later.
