at a glance

the sport of slacklining can be traced back to traditional tightrope walking, which has been around for thousands of years - slacklining as a sport is a relatively new invention, and can be linked to yosemite national park, california.

when conditions for climbing were not ideal, rock climbers adam gorsowsky and jeff ellington would set up their ropes between two trees to practice balance - with a 'self locking pulley system' the set up was simple and easy to transport. the activity soon became a game to see who could stay on the longest and do the best tricks without falling - the sport thrived and spread throughout the world.  arrow-back     arrow-forward
