rio de janeiro is no stranger to slackline - with sunshine, sand and large palm trees the scene is perfect for slacklining -  a  popular documentary called slacklife brazil was filmed by gibbon slacklines in rio de janeiro, and niterói, in 2012 - this brought even more  exposure and mystique to an already booming sport.

the individuals featured in this documentary are sometimes called trickliners since they use a variety of maneuvers while slacklining. these acrobats use specialized material, namely the gibbon slacklines, which come in various sizes - thinner is better for walking, and thicker is better to perform tricks.
