at a glance
with a marine terminal located in the historical praça xv, a variety of ferry lines connect the center of rio de janeiro with several neighborhoods in rio and in niterói - the neighborhoods of ilha do governador and the island-neighborhood of paquetá are reachable via boats departing at short intervals throughout the day.

additionally, the center of niterói and the neighborhood of charitas are also services by these lines, considerably reducing the commuting time required if going via land.

beyond the standard ways of going by seas, there are a number of private boat companies that offer both tours and trasport, as well as options that lean more toward entertainment than actual trasport such as jet-skis and pedal boats - useful nonetheless to get close to otherwise inaccessible parts of the shore.   arrow-back      arrow-forward
