located at floresta da tijuca(tijuca forest), gruta paulo e virgina (paulo and virgínia grotto) is one of over 60 caves inside the park. it was named after the famous romantic characters paulo e virgínia, from bernadin de saint-pierre's 19th-century novel of the same name.

the cave can be accessed via the rua marianópolis trail, in the grajaú neighborhood, at the edge of the floresta da tijuca.
