adventurers must be prepared to go through challenging passages, often using ropes and flashlights, and at times even crossing small lakes and rivers in less than ideal conditions.

we strongly encourage all hikers to enjoy rio's mountain trails, caves, and caverns accompanied by an experienced and certified speleologist guide -especially if participants are not sure about the region, as many paths are poorly marked, and it can be easy to get lost.

going with guides is not imperative, but it is the safest way to navigate the terrain, as the guides are experts of the region - this is particularly important if there is climbing involved on the journey.
