the peak of bico do papagaio (beak of the parrot), at 989 meters (3244 ft) high, is the second highest summit at parque national da tijuca. a famous local landmark, it gets its name from its peculiar pointy shape which resembles the beak of a parrot.

located on the west side of the park, the first part of the hike is easy, but the final elevation requires hikers to be in good physical condition, because of its intense incline and  difficult to climb granite blocks at the top. nevertheless, the trail up bico do papagaio is the second most popular in the tijuca forest after pico da tijuca.
