although quite rare, venomous snakes, spiders, scorpions, and even a venomous caterpillar species all can be found in this urban tropical rainforest, therefore thick hiking boots are a must.

the entrance to the park is on highway mendanha, near avenida brazil, and it is open from 8am to 5 pm, tuesday through sunday, and admission is free. for more information, call 2301-9438.
