hermeto pascoal is one of the most inovative instrumental brazilian musicians, closely related to jazz - in the 1970s he worked with mile davis, who along with gil evans admire much of pascoal's work, introducing him to some brazilian native instruments such as agogô, cuica, berimbau and rain sticks, ultimately helping revolutionize percussion in jazz and other musical genres - davis' album titled live-evil received contribution for two compositions from pascoal.
