there are no public restrooms on charitas beach, or lifeguards on duty.  the only bathrooms are provided by the local kiosks and can be used for a fee.  these bathrooms have no lockers or showers.

while the nearby são francisco beach  attracts a more sophisticated crowd at night, praia de charitas livens up after dark with the kiosks playing a variety of mpb and other popular music selections aimed at a more informal attendance.
