there are many kiosks along the promenade, with several shaded areas ideal for reading and relaxing under the palm trees.  some kiosks have areas specifically set up for children. 

very importantly, on this beach is located the estação hidroviária de charitas, arrival point of the catamarans going back and forth every 30 minutes between rio de janeiro and niterói.

part of the caminho niemeyer, this marine terminal is a prime example of modern architecture and a local landmark in itself.
