there are some removable public restrooms along this beach, especially during periods of large public events, and there are lifeguards on duty occasionally.  

visible from praia de icaraí, the pedra do índio (rock of the indian) is an ancient rock that became local landmark and icon of the city. pedra do índio is particularly meaningful, as it directly relates to the founding of the city of niterói where it is.
