praia do sossego, or quiet beach, is a beautiful beach in niterói's oceanic region - not well known, this beach is so beautiful and unique to be declared a natural monument by niterói's s ecretaria municipal de projetos especiais  (smpe) via the plano urbanístico da região oceânica - the same title awarded to the sugar loaf and the cagarras islands.

this small beach, only 250 meters in length, is hidden between the two rocky hills ponta dos morros and  ponta pé de boi. it has clear waters with mild temperatures, fine white sand, and gorgeous tropical vegetation surrounding it on all sides, reaching high on the hills the delimit the beach.
