praia funda (deep beach)  is the beach following praia do meio. the trail between praia do meio e praia funda is about 300 meters (300 yards), and gets slightly more demanding than the previous part of the trail.

however, it is not recommended to try and reach one beach from the others by walking along the coast on the rocks, as the tides can change suddenly and the area is slippery, with no readily available medical help in case of accidents. for all these beaches, a local guide should be hired, for safety and also because the hiking trails have bifurcations that lead nowhere.
