well lit at night, it allows both surfing and swimming, although it may not be as safe as copa posto 6 for night swimming - both due to stronger waves and fewer people in the area. the section by the rock of arpoador, is extremely well illuminated, and after dark it is used by many surfers, some swimmers, and many fishermen.

the waves here can get strong, and there can be an undercurrent, so caution is always recommended.  there are no lifeguards on duty after sunset, and in general swimming in any of the beaches at night is not recommended, as nobody is officially in charge of the swimmers' safety.
