situated between the beaches of são conrado and praia da barra, praia da joatinga is a beautiful  but difficult to access sandy stretch that is known for its tranquility, particularly during the week when it is often almost empty.

only accessible via a passage through a private condominium, this small beach is very close to barra beach, yet it is so hard to find that even most taxi drivers will not know how to get there.

at about 200 meters, this beach is tiny, one can walk from one end of it to the other in less than ten minutes.
