though somewhat less visited due to the rocky shoreline, care should be taken as small boats full of sunbathers tend to stop there, and as surrounding depths range from 6 to 18 meters there always snorkelers and scuba divers in the vicinity.

laje das tijucas are the smallest and least visited islets of the tijuca islands, in part due to the distance from shore, in part due to the stronger seas there.

made up of laje do magdalena and ilha da barra, these are little more than rocks best suited for fishing than for sporting activities.
