due to prainha's unique setting, there are some great views both out to sea and of the surrounding terrain - furthermore, a kiosk set on one of the cliffs overlooking the beach serves juices and seafood with a view like no other spot in rio.

prainha really is a beautiful place and certainly worth the short journey from rio de janeiro's zona sul.

during the week prainha is almost always deserted,  exception made perhaps for a few surfers out to reach where waves are born in the crystal waters.

in general very few cariocas and tourists venture out until the weekend, so travelers who have time should certainly visit this spot.
