while by bus, average travel time is about 120 minutes each way, at a roundtrip cost of about 30 reals per person, depending on the buses line.

the road connecting the rest of rio de janeiro to barra de guaratiba beach (praia grande), the last populated beach before the adventure beaches, goes through a protected area, and as a result the fleet of authorized buses that go back and forth on this line is limited, and rides not very frequent.

however, these beaches cannot be reached via taxi or bus - as taxis or buses can only get to the beach da barra de guaratiba, after which the wild shores can only be reached via hiking (about 60 minutes to praia dos búzios, the first beach) or via small boats, about 20 minutes to praia dos búzios.    arrow-back      arrow-forward
