part of rio de janeiro's adventure beaches, praia do meio (beach in the middle) is the largest of this group of beaches. this beach is located in the middle of the other adventure beaches, part of the grumari natural reserve park (reserva ecológica de grumari). spanning 350 meters, praia do meio is sandy beach beautifully set between two hills, tropical vegetation and clean water. many sea shells on the rough sand give the whole beach even more of a wild feel. the waves here are stronger than in the other beaches in this area, and they make this beach a favorite among local surfers.
