at a glance
in fact, most of the people at this beach are neighborhood residents, and international visitors who come to rio are generally not even aware of the existence of the beaches in this area, since they are not suitable for swimming and they have no famous natural landmarks in the vicinity.

yet, a visit to this part of the city offers a precious insight in the lives of the cariocas who live apart form the cosmopolitan and glamorous rio that the world has come to know.

charming in many ways, this undiscovered part of the city still has small homes, some dirt roads, very friendly residents, and a variety of small typical restaurants.         arrow-back     arrow-forward
