while praia da brisa 's waters are not usable for sports or seaside activities, the beach offers great views of the local bird population via the long piers recently built there.  

the área de proteção ambiental das brisas is one of the last unspoiled sandbank areas in rio de janeiro, and extends through several  habitat types - beach, sandbank swamp, salt marsh vegetation, and even rainforest.
