it was originally created as a carnival bloc in 1970, and remained as so for most of its existence.

it held great parades during the following decades, even forging rivalries with other blocs in the region, especially the caprichosos de bento ribeiro.

but during the 1990s the lack of financial support meant that several of these great blocs would eventually fade away and die. this was the ultimate fate of the mentioned caprichosos congregation.
