the samba school g. r. e. s. rosa de ouro, which translates as 'golden rose', is considered the only true representative samba school from the oswaldo cruz neighborhood left in the carnival parades.

although the neighborhood did indeed originate some of the greatest schools most of them had since moved their headquarters to neighboring regions, like the famous portela did, or then simply disappeared during the years.

rosa de ouro, though, kept their headquarters within the neighborhood, and takes great pride out of that.
