it was founded in 1959 from a group of dissidents of the bloco garotos do itá, a descendent of the bloco de sujo 'vai quem quer' (goes who wants to) - it started by parading in the santa cruz neighborhood, becoming an important part of the festivities in a very short time.

winning several local championships in a row, it started to be part of the mainstream circles, having its first taste of the top division in 1966.

during these years the new school also absorbed several other smaller groups from its neighborhood, which allowed it to have biggest parades and ambitions.
