at a glance

created in 1946, the samba school unidos do morro azul (united of the blue hill) had the curious characteristic of being among the very first to have a woman as its president - andressa moreira da silva, a communal leader and an important personality within the jacarezinho neighborhood.

in 1966 it would join in a fusion with another samba school, the unidos do jacaré (united of the alligator') and the bloco não tem mosquito (there aren't mosquitoes), a move that led to the creation of the larger g. r. e. s. unidos do jacarezinho (united of the small alligator). arrow-back      arrow-forward
