groups such as funk como le gusta, bossacucanova, and azymuth, have impressed the large crowds in the past. the dixie square jazz band are regulars at the festival and the group make their way through the town while performing. aside from the traditional blues and jazz many musicians play an infusion of samba, jazz, funk, and soul. many of the concerts are free. one of brazil's best-known celebrations is of course carnival but the festivities don't only take place in rio de janeiro, they spread through the entire country and búzios is no different. spontaneous street parties kick off down the rua das pedras with shopkeepers and homeowners setting up stalls selling great food and drink. | january | |||
