the preservation of local flora and fauna are the main message of the race, promoting the importance of non-pollution, the use of sustainable, local and natural resources, and awareness of changes in the sub-marine landscape such as the recent spreading of the, beautiful yet  damaging coral-sol, an orange coral originally from the galápagos islands.
