july brings with it the winter festival, which includes a wealth of action sports events such as the skateboarding championship, at the são francisco beach marina, and the paragliding tournament, at parque da cidade, on top of morro da viração.

the newest addition to the festival is the stand up paddle jurujuba-icaraí crossing, which is a nod to the growing popularity of this new twist on surfing.
