For those that do not fall into this category it can still be as easy as having the athlete or his/her sponsoring agent, company or organizer contact the Coordenação-Geral de Imigração do Ministério do Trabalho (Ministry of Labor) and outlining the terms of the  sporting activity to be performed.

this visa must be used within 90 days of being issued and, generally valid for up to 90 days, the visa can be extended on a case-by-case basis.

Once approved it is just a matter of filling out the appropriate application for the temporary III visa.
