specifically pertaining to pacified favelas, The Rio + Social is a multidisciplinary program coordinated by the Instituto Pereira Passos - IPP in partnership with UN-HABITAT - the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, to promote improvement in the quality of life of people who live in pacified territories.

The performance of the Rio + Social  is guided by three themes - information,   with surveys that generate a picture and an overview of each area, the basics, for the provision of public services, and economic development, with training, advice and assistance in legalization for local entrepreneurs in order to generate income and employment in the communities.
