this last neighborhood actually holds a somewhat famous beach, the flechas beach.

a little further inshore is the nilo peçanha palace, where the 'museu de história e arte do rio de janeiro'  (museum of history and art of rio de janeiro), was established.

closer to morcego, standing on top of a cliff which rises from the calm waters of the bay, is one of the great hallmarks of the whole niterói region, the 'museu de arte contemporânea', or 'museum of contemporary art'.
