on the second floor, the museum houses temporary exhibitions with a socio-environmental theme. furthermore, a photographic collection of 12,000 images, which documents the history of the 205 years of the jardim botânico, is contained here.  

this photographic collection records important events in the development of scientific and botanic knowledge about biodiversity issues, including various brazilian expeditions which resulted in the drawing of an inventory of national flora. the themes of exploitation and conservation of natural resources are addressed in many forms.
