at a glance

the museum was closed in 2010 until 2012 for refurbishment and later received further renovations with the construction of an architecturally sustainable annex.   this annex has received the seal of energy efficiency of the national program for energy conservation - procel as it will use sustainable materials.

designed by the winner of a public competition coordinated by the institute of architects of brazil  - iab it will have an exhibition space of one thousand square meters, which will house permanent exhibitions, and will contain an auditorium.
