reaching vidigal by public transport from the zona sul is quite easy - there are several buses riding through ipanema and leblon and many minivans ride along the beaches, specifically taking passengers to vidigal and rocinha. 

there are two city bus lines inside vidigal - 521 and 522 connecting the metrô station in botafogo with vidigal - visitors should not enter this favela without a local guide or a professional of the field.
