In particular, the corridor known as TransCarioca emerges as the first north-south connection of the city and links two major economic extremes inside metropolitan boundaries, Barra da Tijuca and Tom Jobim International Airport. In its path, several densely populated areas with intense economic activity, will per pass huge transformations, in particular the central area of the Taquara district, in the studied area.
