The former Palácio do Catete, headquarters of the federal government from 1897 to 1960, the building and the park that surround it, were registered by the Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico and Artístico Nacional (IPHAN) in 1938 - Designed by the French landscaper Paul Villon, in 1897, the park maintains its original layout today, and is one of the principle leisure areas of the city.

the illumination project, developed by the architect and lighting designer, Ana Moraes, was to improve the park lighting with consideration for its historic value - The work was guided by a historical study, which identified the original elements of the park, highlighting its historical importance.   arrow-back      arrow-forward
