The Espaço Museu de República, or 'Museum of the republic', is the  ideal location for a romantic or relaxing evening.

It contains a small art house cinema, in which rare, independent films can be enjoyed, while taking in the beautiful, majestic setting of the palace and its eclectic gardens.

It is one of the most sought after spaces for citywide film festivals as well as important visual art exhibitions, largely because of its idyllic and culturally significant backdrop.

The cinema itself has 90 seats, and there is also a small bookshop and café on site, along with a facebook presence on this page.
