at a glance

precious is the café 18 do forte, that with outside seating, has one of the best pastries and views of the city - it is open tuesdays through sundays from 10:00 am through 6:00pm.

just outside the fort, nicknamed 'carlão' (big carl) and installed in 2001, the bronze statue of brazilian poet carlos drummond de andrade is located by the sea on copacabana beach.

the life-size likeness is seated on a bench on the sidewalk that lines avenida atlântica, adjacent to where rua rainha elizabeth intersects the avenida near posto 6 - the location was chosen as this was the poet's favorite location for his evenings walks.     arrow-back      arrow-forward
