Parque Estadual da Chacrinha, or 'State Get-together Park', is a little known gem located right in the buzzing heartland of the city, the district of Copacabana.

The land on which the park is situated used to belong to the Portuguese Crown and made up part of the Chácara do Leme, or 'Leme Ranch', which was popularly known as Chacrinha - hence, the current name of the park.

It was previously used by the indigenous tupi people to defend against colonial invasion, and it is believed that some of the trails that exist today were formed by natives for purposes of defense. arrow-back      arrow-forward
