at a glance

many people play beach soccer, volley, and other sports along copacabana at all hours of the day well into the night - this beach is very well lit at night, so it is safe to stroll along the promenade and even go into the water between posto 5 and posto 6 after dark, keeping in mind that lifeguards are off duty after sunset, however.

as the sun sets, copacabana empties to leave room for the many beach soccer games played on the sand, side by side with beach-volley, joggers, and some fishermen. in fact, the night on copacabana beach belongs to the fishermen, some recreational, and some earning a living with it, sailing courageously every day before sunrise.

the beach is marked lifeguard towers called 'postos', where bathrooms, showers, are lockers can be found.   arrow-back      arrow-forward
